About David Host Consulting
Core Web Strategies is the practice of David Host Consulting, founded by David Host to do for law firms what larger agencies rarely do well: make a firm’s website accurate, defensible and readable by the engines prospective clients now ask. Every engagement runs under David’s direction; the team behind it — designers, developers, analytics and tracking specialists, a continuity administrator, and a reporting partner for firms that want more than a website — is assembled for the work at hand.
What we provide
Three things, each with a fixed scope and a finish line.
- A discovery review: a written examination of your website as a prospective client and an AI engine would find it — what loads, what is readable, what the site claims, and where it contradicts itself. Delivered as a report and presented to the partners.
- A staged website program: take control, fix the foundation, then build the content the firm owns. Each stage has its own fee and its own definition of done; the firm decides one stage at a time.
- A brand claim audit: every factual claim the firm publishes, checked against what AI engines currently answer about it, with wrong answers traced to their sources. Flagged for your attorneys’ review.
Why you can trust it
- David worked at FindLaw — first on the team that built attorney websites at a pace of hundreds of firm sites a month, then on FindLaw’s SEO team — and then helped get GetLegal off the ground, before founding the practice to do that work one firm at a time.
- We know the Texas advertising rules well enough to flag what may be sensitive before it is published. We are not lawyers and render no legal conclusions; your attorneys rule.
- AI visibility is the other half of the practice: making sure the engines prospective clients now ask can read your site, find it consistent, and describe the firm the way the firm describes itself. It turns out to be the same discipline as keeping the advertising accurate.
- We hold the systems we manage and answer for them, with a named continuity administrator so a site can always be operated. You own your content, your domain and your data, and you can have a complete copy at any time.
- We do not promise rankings, mentions or cases. Search engines and AI engines decide what they show; we control the quality of what they find.
What to expect
- Every engagement starts with a discovery review, so you see what we found before you decide anything.
- Nothing goes live without your written approval. Anything that may touch the advertising rules goes to your attorney first.
- One point of contact. Requests come to David and are carried out under his direction.
- A written status at each milestone, and a report on what the site produces — inquiries and signed cases, not rankings.
What it is worth to you
A prospective client who has seen your advertising now checks it — with a search engine, or with an AI engine that answers from whatever it can read about you. If what it finds contradicts what you said, the money you spent to reach that person is gone. Our work makes sure that what they find holds up: every claim one you can defend, every page one an engine can read, one number to call. The cost of the whole program is a small fraction of one case it keeps from walking away.
Outside the legal work
We also work with automotive service businesses — independent shops that need to be found and trusted the same way a firm does, under a different set of rules.
If you would like to see what your website is telling the AI engines about your firm, ask for a discovery review.
